Metabolic Testing
Metabolic testing has been a revolutionary breakthrough in the fitness industry, not only can clients and non members of health clubs be tested by the gold standard method of fitness testing (before only used by elite athletes and universities), it is also very affordable and can be done within an hour (ideal for your lunch break).
Sall Abraham (Personal Trainers NASM-CES) has experience in over 600 combined RMR (Resting Metabolic Rate) and Exercise tests in the last four years, added to Sall's service is a complete breakdown of clients heart rates for better understanding of their zones from aerobic anaerobic.
The Metabolic Testing Session (a one off test or a re-test after 3-4 months), takes around an hour, including 15-20 mins of physical exercise on a bike or treadmill. The benefits of the session are:
- Find your Resting Metabolic Rate (how many calories your body consumes in a day at rest)
- Fat Bump - where your body most efficiently burns fat in relation to your heart rate.
- Anaerobic threshold - the point at which when exercising you go from aerobic to anaerobic & start to build up lactic acid in the muscles.
- VO2-max finds out how really fit & efficient you are at using oxygen when you perform any given task as an Athlete.
Prior to taking the Metabolic Test, clients should restrain from the following:
- No food for 6-8 hours before the test (only water)
- No tea or coffee (that morning)
- No Alcohol the night before
- No strenuous activity before
- No Smoking for 6-8 hours before the test
Following the results of the Metabolic Tests, clients may wish to undertake
